Biography
Ilaria Cacciotti is Associate Professor of Materials Science & Technology and Biomaterials & Tissue Engineering at the University of Rome "Niccolò Cusano". She graduated in Medical Engineering at the University of Rome “Tor Vergata†(Master of Science Award ‘Fondazione Raeli’). Afterwards, she completed the Ph.D in Materials Engineering (Ph.D Thesis Award ‘Marco Ramoni 2011, Ph.D Thesis Award AIMAT 2012) and she obtained the II Level Master degrees in “Forensic Genetics†and in "Protection against CBRNe events". She is expert in the synthesis, processing and characterisation of materials, particularly for applications in the biomedical, environmental and agro-industrial sectors. She has published more than 70 articles in ISI peer-reviewed journals, is reviewer for more than 50 peer-review journals, is a member of the Editorial Board of several international journals and serves on various grant review committees. For her research activity, she was awarded with: 8th CCT Award “Best Oral Presentation for Young Researchersâ€, 10th International Award "Giuseppe Sciacca" for Young Students, European Biomaterials and Tissue Engineering Doctoral Award 2011, "Top Cited Author 2011-2012 ChemEngJ", “Young Researcher Award Elsevier "Materials Science and Engineering C" 2014, Good Energy Award 2016, “L’ORÉAL-UNESCO Italy for Women and Science Award 2011â€, “Under 35 Talents in Lazioâ€.
